What will Workday@UChicago include?

Workday’s Human Capital Management package offers a full suite of functionality for a Human Resources Information System, almost all of which will be implemented by the Workday@UChicago project. However, this functionality will be released in phases.

In Phase I (beginning Jan. 5, 2015), the following modules of Workday’s HCM suite will be implemented. These will replace our current HR/Payroll administrative systems, which includes the Employee Database (“EDB,” “HRMS,” Integral) and Employee Self-Service.

  • Human Resource Management (includes Core HR and Compensation)
  • Benefits Administration
  • Payroll Administration
  • Employee Self-Service

These modules represent the 139 Workday-delivered business processes that will be implemented in Phase I. Find a link to the full list of processes in scope in the Useful Documents column to the right of this page.

In future phases, the following modules of Workday HCM will be implemented (in no particular order):

  • Open Enrollment
  • Faculty Information Management
  • Regulatory Reporting
  • Recruiting (replacing People Admin, UChicago Jobs)
  • Time Tracking (replacing UChicago Time)
  • Talent Management 

Representatives from the University community will be consulted in the prioritization and timing of these future implementations.
